Access Statement
Introduction
Our three self-catering cottages all have a ground and first floor. We
have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement,
if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming
you.
Pre-Arrival
- We have a basic website
- Bookings/enquiries may be made via email, phone or fax
- The nearest bus stop (going to Ross-on-Wye/Hereford or Gloucester)
is 5 metres from the end of our driveway
- The nearest train station (Main Line Gloucester) is 15 miles away;
there are accessible taxis at the station
- In addition to our ‘Welcome Hamper’ we can arrange for
shopping to be delivered on arrival
- We can provide information in large print on request
- The nearest RADAR toilet is in the town approximately 3 miles from
the cottages
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- There is a car park in the courtyard in front of the cottages with
an allocated space for each cottage
- Car parking is on level tarmac, flat and even
- There is plenty of additional parking on the driveways for visitors
- The front door entrances each has one small step/threshold (Elgar
and Harewood 15 cm, Grosvenor 4 cm) The width of the front doors are
Elgar 74 cm, Grosvenor and Harewood 97 cm
- Parking is 15 metres away from the entrance
- The entrance is reached across the level and even courtyard
- The entrance is clearly signed from the carpark
Public Areas – General (Internal)
- Outhouse/refuse room on ground level
- Door 95 cm wide with a small incline to level, concrete floor

- Accessed via a level graveled pathway from the Italianate garden
- One small step 15 cm high and door 112 cm wide opening inward
- Painted walls, linoleum covered level floor

Dining Room
- The dining room and sitting room are open-plan with a door (width
74 cm) through to the kitchen
- Round table (moveable) on central pedestal 73 cm floor to lowest
point of table (underspace)., 1 metre round and 76 cm high
- Chairs (all moveable) – 2 chairs with padded seat and no
arms
- Flooring is carpeted
Lounge
- Flooring is short pile fitted carpet
- Furniture is moveable and there are plenty of cushions provided
- Sofa and armchairs
- Freeview, teletext TV provided with remote control (also available
are DVD and CD Radio
Grosvenor
Dining Room
- The dining room and sitting room are open-plan with a stable door
(width 84 cm) to the walled courtyard garden
- Round table (moveable) on central pedestal 73 cm floor to lowest
point of table (underspace)., 1 metre round and 76 cm high
- Chairs (all moveable) – 4 chairs with padded seat and no
arms. Two further chairs in bedroom if needed
- Flooring is carpeted
Lounge
- Flooring is short pile fitted carpet
- Furniture is moveable and there are plenty of cushions provided
- Sofa and armchairs provided
- Freeview, teletext TV provided with remote control (also available
are DVD and CD Radio
Harewood
Dining Room
- The dining room and sitting room are open-plan, entered from a
hall/lobby with hall cupboard (door width 83 cm). Door to
dining/lounge 74 cm
- Square table (moveable and extendable) legs on each corner 58 cm
floor to lowest point of table (underspace)., 90 cm long, 91 cm wide
and 74 cm high
- Chairs (all moveable) – 4 chairs with padded seat and no arms. There
are 2 further chairs available upstairs if needed
- Flooring is carpeted
Lounge
- Flooring is short pile fitted carpet
- Furniture is moveable and there are plenty of cushions provided
- Two sofas
- Freeview, teletext TV provided with remote control (also available
are DVD and CD Radio)
Laundry
- In addition to a laundry service there is a laundry room in the outhouse
(door width 74 cm). There is a standard size washer and separate
dryer, both are front loading.

- Reached via staircase of 15 steps (80 cm wide by 24 cm deep) Steps

Grosvenor
- Two bedrooms, master with a king size (5 ft.) bed
- Bed height 66 cm, space each side of bed 90 cm

- Reached via staircase of 14 steps (80 cm wide by 24 cm deep) Steps
are 19 cm high

- Single room: one 3 ft. bed with access from one side (moveable)
bed height 56 cm, free space to right of bed 2 metres
Harewood
- Two bedrooms, master with a king size (5ft.) bed
- Bed height 62 cm, space each side of bed 55 cm
- Reached via staircase of 14 steps (80 cm wide by 23 cm deep) Steps
are 19 cm high

- Short pile carpet from stairs and throughout the first floor
- One easy chair
- Second Bedroom with a double bed (4.6ft.) Bed height 55 cm space
each side of the bed 55 cm, door width 74 cm

double door 106 cm wide. Gravel surface with chairs, tables and
cushions

- Information is produced in size 14 font (can be increased on request)
- Good mobile phone reception – all Networks. Pay-as-you-Go
02 mobile available to guests for the duration of their stay
- WiFi available in Grosvenor and Harewood
- All cottages are no smoking
- Pets and service dogs are welcome to Grosvenor and Harewood – please
inform us on booking

Future Plans
- We are redesigning our website and will provide all information in
alternative formats via the site which will be tested by the BOBBY
programme (3rd/4th quarter 2008)
- We are reviewing options available for safety handles to be fitted
in bath/shower areas. (2nd quarter 2008)
